Invitation
I'd like to invite all of you who are webcomics artists (or artists in general really) to be a part of a new project I'm working on. If all goes according to plan, it will be an online gallery, with a bit of a twist. The basic idea is to find artwork you did as a kid (elementary school, or earlier/later, whatever... at least five years ago, though, in case you're still a young 'un), and then draw the same scene/character/whatever in your current style and with your current abilities, then display both the images side-by-side. Sort of a "before and after" with the "between" being years of learning, unlearning, practicing, slacking, realisticizing (is that a word?) and stylizing.
The idea basically came about as a result of all the people saying "well, with webcomics, you can look back in the archives and see how much the art has progressed." While very true, I figured, hey, why not look even further back? ... even if it's ridicuously far back. Of course, the major drawback to this idea is actually being able to find the old artwork in the first place...
The site will have a "grand openning" in about a month, so if you're interested and are able to, please let me know at revathetoonist@hotmail.com, and get your art to me as soon as it's ready. However, after the site goes up, I will still be accepting more submissions that will be posted as they're received.
